DEELAY CEELAY - One of Portlands Best.
My band The Bear Exchange had a chance to open up for Starfucker and Deelay Ceelay last night.
Starfucker was great, everyone who knows them knows that they will blow you away with their overuse of drums and synthesizer keyboards. They are great and will continue to grow and become even more successful.
What surprised me was Deelay Ceelay.WOW.
Chris and Delaney are two incredible drummers, syncing up to music that they created. They not only were insync but they did it in such a rock star fashion. Fog covering their faces and stobe lights that synced to their beats, they really stole the show.
Their music was made for them and by them. It is dancy and pop like with has a good synth feel. The pre recorded music is then played and the magic begins. They drum over top, allowing more power for an epic feel. The drummers are accompanied by a video that adds to the luster.
Deelay Ceelay are great and really ready to take on the nation AND they are super fun, down to earth guys.

mopeds moped mopeds
Mopeds are really making their way up on the "must have" list. Maybe not so much in Buffalo, but in New York City, Chicago and LA... its a whole different story.
Here is my moped advice:
-My suggetion is to start with a PUCH moped. Easy, simple and light. Great for beginners.
-Sign up on Mopedarmy.com for all the help you could ever find.
-make sure it goes 25-30 mph or you may hate your moped
-top tanks are much more stylish but if you are a beginner... stick with a puch.
There is so much other advice i could give. This summer has taught me a ton. I am currently dealing with a gas leak and its not cool. BUT parts are relatively easy to find and they are perfect for summer, spring and fall.
Here are some pictures of mopeds.
Found this on craigslist today. SUPER NEAT. I want to buy it, i am waiting until the morning to call the seller.
This is me and my 1977 Puch. Some guy waited 3 hours to take my picture with it... kinda creepy but he was nice.
These are friends of mine. They live in LA now but just moved from Chicago. The lady on the left is Colleen. She taught me how to ride a moped. Shes pretty neat. You can check out her photos @ www.colleendurkin.com

Vacations
Vacations played in Buffalo last week.
For those who don't know them, i would advise you to check them out.
Vacations, from Chicago, is on their first tour ever. Their members include members from Chin up Chin up and Joan of Arc.
Vacations take the lead in music that you can put on your ipod when you want to go to the beach. The ukulele is perfect for setting the scene and the bands catchy tone puts sand in your shoes.
I was pretty impressed. They write catchy, quick songs that can catch any ones fancy. You may not like his voice, but we are all entitled to our own opinion.
They currently have a 7 inch for sale on orange vinyl with a free download.
